Péchés Capitaux ( Morgane Kingsley 5) by Jenna Black

Score:  3/5

Winter Eve (Ashwood Falls 0.5) By Lia Davis

Happy Monday to all!!

A new week starts and in a few days a new month too, it's promising...so today once again i offer you two reviews but one of them will be in french.

First, i will start with a paranormal romance by Lia Davis, it's the prequel to her series titled Ashwood Falls, if you love shifters and felines you should try this one. (i would be reviewing the first book too  at a later time.)

happy discovery!

Short description from goodreads :

There comes a time when setting your differences aside isn’t just necessary, it’s a means of survival. After losing over half of their dens to a group rogue shifters, the wolves and leopards merged as one Pack, but living together is much more of a challenge then they expected.

Danica Welsh was born to be the leopard pack healer. An accident involving a drug induced youth left her badly burned and scared—emotionally and physically. Without the ability to heal by touch, she secludes herself to the edge of town, away from Ashwood Falls’ overly concerned citizens. All hope of mating and family become a distance dream. When she finally starts to accepts the long, lonely existence ahead of her, a stranger crashes into her life, and her heart.

After Nevan Mathews’ fiancé died three ago, he submerged himself into his work, cutting off all reminders of a life he dreamed of with the woman he loved. He lets his step-mother talk him into taking the first vacation in five years to visit for the holidays. But an accident delays his travel plans, sending him to Danica’s doorstep and raises a need he thought he would never feel again.
Can they tear down the walls around their hearts and submit to the passion before another claims Dani for his own?

Warning: Contains a shifter who's scars run deeper than skin, a human who has the heart of a shifter, and a snow storm that's sure to have them both reaching for warmth.

My opinion:
It’s lovely, i’m really interested in the Ashwood falls’ universe and to see the two different kinds of shifters living together is something i’m looking to.  I love the premise of this story, the human who grew up surrounded by shifters who helped him pushing his abilities at their limits and then he find his mate in another feline shifter….so romantic.

This novella is well written and it made me want more because it was just a small introduction in the city… we learnt how the city was created, when and why but the reason behind the attack  is still unknown, they offer a hypothesis nothing serious. The danger is still there and more important that we could have thought at first so i guess i would have hoped a little more about that. In a sense there is little action in this novella, it focuses on Danica and Nevan relationship from their meeting to their understanding and acceptance of the others… because both main protagonists are looking for this sense, this feeling of belonging. Since her accident that left her maimed Danica has lost hope for a mate and  has isolated herself  from others….Nevan is an human in a shifters’ family, he is loved by it but long for the link they  are sharing. Together both of them find what is looking for, even if they didn’t know it  at first. Danica doesn’t want a mate, she wants love so she reject the demand of another shifter who doesn’t accept her  as a whole, scars included.   Nevan wants to be able to protect her and he is ready to compete for her, to win her but it doesn’t happen…. Perhaps it what left me hanging…. Now there is no cliffhanger but the ending is a little too abrupt for my taste.

Still or perhaps for that same reason, i will read the first book quite soon and if you want a short novella with shifters, feline ones, a sweet romance. This is a good introduction.

Hex Hall ( Hex Hall 1) by Rachel Hawkins

Happy reading!

Short description from goodreads :

Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It's gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie's estranged father--an elusive European warlock--only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it's her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters.
By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire student on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect.

As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.

My opinion:
It’s a good surprise…. I didn’t know what to expect because I’ve heard as much positive than negative opinion but I kept my mind open and I’m glad I took this books. It’s not something wholly original that’s true, there are parts really predicable too but it’s well written so you want to finish reading it. It’s an agreeable reads with some funny moments and others more mysterious.

Sophie is a kind girl who just want to be accepted and it’s while trying to aid another one that she reveals to be a witch…since it’s not the first incident either she is sentenced to attend Hecate Hall, or Hex Hall for the students, until her majority. There she discovers a world she never envisioned…with fairies, werewolves, ghosts and others witches and warlocks; even a vampire as her roommate. Since her mother is human who is separated from Sophie Father, a warlock; she only read a little about this universe but while she is hoping that perhaps she will finally be accepted the opposite happens. Sophie doesn’t know simple  spells, doesn’t know the difference between dark witch and white witch…worse she doesn’t know her father is a really important man responsible for sending them all to hex hall….either people don’t believe her, think she sucks or that she is a spy for her father… not funny , and there is this guy Archer… awesomely good looking, who sometimes seems friendly, sometimes laughs at her expenses but no matter if he is Elodie’s boyfriends , Sophie can’t resist to have a crush on him.

She also manages to makes enemies of the other few dark witches students by refusing to join their coven…her only friend is Jenna, the only vampire student who all blames for the death of a student the last year…. So when new accidents happen, each time involving lost of blood she is the prime suspect. For Sophie that’s too easy, even more after she learned that all “prodigium”, name of all paranormal creatures like them, are in fact hunted by three distinctive groups of humans. Also Jenna tells her that the first victims confided to her that the coven was trying to call a demon…. If Jenna isn’t the culprit then Sophie wants to find who it is alone if it what it takes…. I liked that she was so loyal, also I really loved that she wasn’t stuck in a mindset like other prodigium. She accept to think that perhaps there is a reason if they are hunted down, that perhaps some of them should  she doesn’t believe in a the whole humans against prodigium without exception. That she refused to join the coven make me love her more, even if she had sometimes doubts about Jenna.

The story is well done and I read it very easily, I liked that the differences between the species in the prodigium were explained too. Now a little thing, the attacks didn’t feel really mysterious or horrifying to me, I guess I was waiting for something more dramatic but perhaps it’s because those victims weren’t characters I appreciated.
I will be reading the rest of the trilogy soon I thing and I do hope the quality will stay the same
To recommend

Hell on Wheels ( Black Knights Inc. 1) by Julie Ann Walker

Happy Sunday!

                         Since i took yesterday off, today you get not one but 2 reviews... so let's start with a romantic suspense book that was highly recommended to me it's the first book of the series "Black Knights Inc" so if you love bikers, suspense, action and romance this book could be for you at least for me it was a good change from books including demons^^;;

happy reading!

Publisher: Sourcebook Casablanca
Publication: 2012
ISBN:  0373277210
Genre: romantic suspense, contemporary
Violence: strong (torture described in detail)

Language: mild
sex: strong
Public: 18+
Source: bought

Short description from goodreads :

Black Knights Inc.--Behind the facade of their tricked-out motorcycle shop is an elite special ops team assigned the jobs too hot for anyone else to handle.

Hold On Tight...

Ex-Marine Nate "Ghost" Weller is an expert at keeping his cool--and his distance--which makes him one hell of a sniper. It's also how he keeps his feelings for Ali Morgan in check. Sweet, sexy Ali has always revved his engine, but she's his best friend's baby sister...and totally off limits.

Rough Road Ahead

Ali's never seen anything sexier than Nate Weller straddling his custom Harley--or the flash of danger in his eyes when she tells him she's in trouble. First something happened to her brother, and now she's become the target of a nasty international organization. With Nate, her life is in the most capable hands possible--but her heart is another story altogether

My opinion:
I’m so glad I trusted those who recommended this series to me because this first book is really promising and I do want more already. Julie Ann Walker manages to keep the tension high and a fast packed action without forgetting some touch of romance and humor which were quite important to counterbalance the vivid and gruesome description of tortures the hero and his teammate, the brother of the heroine, suffered.  The author writes those so well that you can imagine them and the state Griggs was in… perhaps a little hard for emotional people who will  get a little ill imagining the scene..; a good way for the readers to understand better why Ali tends to throw up a lot. (Sensitive stomach against rude times… rude times won)

The way Nate, alias Ghost, react in front of Ali since the beginning show us how heated it will become because you can really count on steamy scenes, you have to wait a little for them because he does try to keep his promise to Griggs and consider Ali out of limits even if he is attracted to her for years. The only way for him to do it is to keep his distance and to become stony when she is near but with her life on the line Nate show how protective he can be.

Ali is a quiet girl but having growing up with an older brother who was in military she also learned some tips…her brother didn’t want to left her unprotected so he become her teacher in a sense and trained her. She accepted that because she was really close to him, more than to their parents. Ali always knew her brothers was doing more than what he let on but never asked, waiting for him to decide to share those secrets with her. Unfortunately, Griggs dies in an accident or so it said.. devastated Ali  doesn’t notice that Nate is hurt or hiding something….but when months later she is nearly mugged, followed she decide to impose on him for security because Griggs trusted this man with his life and she is sure they didn’t work in a simple mechanic shop.

The team didn’t expect to receive a visit of their late mate baby sister…even less bugged as she is…but they couldn’t let her down so they decide to act not sure who is behind it. When they discover that Griggs had taken a solo mission without telling anyone is hard on them but it’s a leads they must follow even if it means revealing who they are and what they do to Ali. We don’t see all the black knights as of yet because a large part of them are on mission  but I did love the one we met. Ozzie is really funny with his geek attitude but he is really talented in his speciality. Becky is determined to join the black knights who train her in secret but their boss, secretly in love with her, won’t accept that idea just to protect her. It’s amusing to see how both of them see what it’s between Ali and Nate but can see what the other is feeling despite their numerous banters.  Dan is the only one married but we don’t see that much interactions betweens the two, which you will understand when you read the book.

I appreciate to see Dagan staying “honest”… he does have a deep sense of justice and I wouldn’t been surprised to see him join the rank of the knight… though I do want to know his story.

The only thing that bothered me a little is the way the knights seem a little indifferent to the suffering of their own….yes grief can be done differently but  I would have thought they would show ore solidarity even if they are military and knows the risks.

If you want a  good romantic suspense with bikers full of themselves, big alpha but also women who knows and fight for what they wants…. This is the right book for you and I wish I had the next book on hand already!

Snow Bound by Larissa Ione

Hello to all!

To change a little from the paranormal romance including demon, today i offer you my opinion on a sport romance that really moved me but don't worry the paranormal will come back tomorrow. Enjoy "Snow Bound" by Larissa Ione.

Publisher: Samhain Publishing
Publication: 2008
ISBN:  1599988232
Genre: contemporary romance, sport romance
Violence: none

Language: normal
sex: strong
Public: 18+
Source: won

Short description from goodreads :

Passion hot enough to melt the slopesand their hearts. Thanks to a devastating medical diagnosis, ski patroller Sean Trenton has endured two years of celibacy. Two long years that have chipped away at his confidence. Now, with the career opportunity of a lifetime on the line, hes ready to remedy the celibacy situation, and sexy snowbunny Robyn Montgomery is just what the doctor ordered.

Unfortunately, the last thing reliable, intense radio station manager Robyn Montgomery wants in her suddenly turbulent professional and personal life is a thrill-seeking former Olympic skier-even if he is a total hottie. Shes had it with guys who hog the spotlight and leave her in the shadows. So why is it that even an icy blizzard cant temper the combustible heat between them?

Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language.

My opinion:
Fabulous… I took it first to past time but I devoured the book in less than an hour…. It’s really a wonderful story and I do recommend it… Larissa Ione has a wonderful written style, clear and easy but even more I was touched by the message in this story. It has steamy scene… really steamy one but for me it was mostly a sweet story about acceptance and trust.

Both main protagonists have trouble with self esteem…. Robyn because she was harassed during her childhood because she was obese and studious…she grew up, lost weight, got a good career however when it’s time for a reunion with her tormentor she wants to prove herself and is stressed to the point to be ill. So when her ex boyfriend and boss, Damon, cancel his participation to the auction she is organising there at the last minute, it’s the disaster for her even more when she see him there….and understand he is just using her and her contacts to have a interview  of importance.

Sean Trenton had it all… fame, success, money and groupie available for flings as soon as he wanted…but his dream of winning the gold medal at the Olympics crashed when he received terrible news… and had an accident nearly voluntarily. Now that his sport life is behind him and 2 years later he is healed…having a job as a skiing patroller and paramedic but that part of his life left sequels and Sean doubt himself, refusing to date a woman since he is maimed in his opinion. He is afraid of rejection, when his friend Todd encourages him to date again, he resist until he met Robyn…she is the total opposite of the women he dated in the past and worse she is not jumping on him ignoring his past fame. Worse, when she does learn about his past exploit she is even more determined to avoid Sean. Without realist why, the hot skier is even more determined to have her and to help her.
Now to be honest, if I do regret something in this book is that part about “fling”, one stand etc…for me sex is not a game and it must hold significance so I can’t assent to this attitude.. I do understand that Todd wants Sean’s happiness but urging him to have “ fun” instead of finding love isn’t something I approve of. I’m realistic and I do believe this behaviour to be common with celebrities and groupies but still… however Larissa Ione managed to make me forget about that during my reads. Immersed in the story, I enjoyed Robyn reservations but I was sad it was because of lack of self esteem and fear… Sean soon get really involved even if he doesn’t recognise it immediately. He is honest in his approach even if he is not telling her all the truth… and he does go against Damon, who I really dislike a lot, the horrible egoistical, abusive man.

Both of them are hurting and in love unfortunately their doubts and fears nearly destroyed their chance until they get stuck in a storm .. then… alone in the world they are about to open their heart about the source of their fear and I enjoyed this intimacy, the sweet approach and the acceptance that happen then… not everything is on the table yet but the story take another level.

It’s really a wonderful reads that I recommend if you are looking for a sweet romance with steamy part^^…and perhaps this book will make you love yourself a little more too as a bonus because none of us is perfect but each of us can be  deserving.

Short description from goodreads :

It's never a good day when an ancient demon shows up on your toilet bowl. For Lizzie Brown, that's just the beginning. Soon her hyperactive terrier starts talking, and her long-lost biker witch Grandma is hurling Smuckers jars filled with magic. Just when she thinks she's seen it all, Lizzie learns she's a demon slayer-and all hell is after her.
Of course, that's not the only thing after her. Dimitri Kallinikos, a devastatingly handsome shape-shifting griffin needs Lizzie to slay a demon of his own. But how do you talk a girl you've never met into going straight to the underworld? Lie. And if that doesn't work, how dangerous could a little seduction be...?

My opinion:
This book surprises me and I really think I could love this series even if I didn’t give the highest score to this first book.  I did like it a lot but the beginning was a little hard for me to get into the story which isn’t really surprising since the heroine too see everything coming down on her without prior notice. Now after that first part, I loved it a lot.

It looks like in books including demons, the pets tends to “speak” a lot (literally or not)^^ this month,  first I met “Dooley “( in Demon hunting in Dixie), Kara Gillian got a cat  “Poupinette” with a strong personality and now I  discovered Pirate. I love Pirate he not only speaks but he is funny and he does have a lot to say in intelligible conversation none the less. He is the one who keep my interest high when the story was a little slipping.

What destabilised me a little is the beginning… Lizzie has been adopted she knows it so far so good. Suddenly, 30 years later, a woman call says she is her grandmother and Lizzie believe her without question, even invite her to her home the next day… it goes too quickly for me. It’s perhaps my personality but if I had been abandoned I’m not sure I would want to meet my biological family but even I was I wouldn’t trust the first person  who proclaim to be my family, I would do some research take some time to thing about it etc. Even more if I had a party planned the same day. Lizzie seems to be a really organised person, who doesn’t like to do something without programming it in details so for me there is a contraction there and it bothered me.

Now I can understand that grandma is determined and had planned that but still. And Lizzie who follows her after seeing a demon on her toilet – they don’t pick the best place ^^;;- I guess I was expecting more resistance.  Though as soon as the action really start, the story sucks you in  and you don’t have a moment to breath like Lizzie and the gorgeous griffin called Dimitri. The relationship between them is eventful, trust not easily given and let’s be honest, Lizzie doesn’t think for the long run when she agrees to take him as her protector and a little more. Now we will learn later that he wasn’t really truthful either , I guess it bothered me when he does tell her the truth , earlier would have been better but I can in some measure understand him… then again Lizzie forgive a little too quickly to my taste but with her life on the line it’s perhaps normal.

The biker witches are funny even if I wouldn’t want to share a meal with them, some are more likable than others but Bob is really kind with Pirate. You also get a share of werewolves, I do hope JR will stay a friend because in this book, werewolves are a little different not in a bad sense but their intern politic is quite messed up. ( though if Andréa was out of the game I wouldn’t miss her)

I loved to see Lizzie becoming more confident and following her instinct, I doubted her a little at a moment because she often act without thinking and some of her actions will have consequences we still don’t know but I she grew on me and I will be glad to read more of her adventures.

If you want a paranormal romance including griffin and really steamy scenes, lot of action and gore stuff as potion material^^ this is a promising debut for a series that could only get better. To recommend to adult only even if the cover could have been one for a YA story this is NOT one at all!

Storm Force Episode 6 by Susannah Sandlin ( review and discussion)

Hello to all,

Welcome to our weekly Storm force review and discussion! Episode 6 has been released and in a way it gives us a small reprieve, a really short one though. I can tell you I was nearly trembling when came the time to read this… after the  eventful and heartbreaking two last episodes with cliffhanger really hard I wasn’t sure what to expect just that I wanted to know more. No real cliffhanger this time, thanks god, I’m not sure my heart would have supported a new stressful ending in a row but not an happy end either (still 3 episodes to get it ^^ no despair)

Now I do understand those of you who prefer to wait until the release of all chapters to start reading this book but remember if you want to do that, buying the ebook now for only 1,99 is a great offer and you will receive the new release without anything else to do (and all the precedents episodes of course). Once the serial is finished the price will go up. For those who don’t want digital edition, the book will be released in print and other format on June 18, mark the date on your calendar or pre order it already you won’t regret it.

Story:
Episode 6:Kell and is time have started the extraction/rescue mission, still  without the knowledge of their commander. Archer and Robin are at the first line while Kell and Nik take care of the system details…humans and shifters against shifters only…precision and time are needed because another threat is still hanging.

My opinion:
This week my heart really did flip flop…while I was reassured to see each chapter ending at the right moment without tension or stress, I really felt like a member of the team with some pressure on my shoulder to make everything right….with some angst moments necessary since it’s a kind of thriller after all but also happy one, romance let’s not forget it … action and crushing, devastating news.

Mori is starting to loose hope and to fall ill from infection when she manages to communicate a little with Robin to prepare her rescue. While she is happy about that, she is also curious and a little afraid when she understands that she doesn’t know who are the shifters helping her, she is thinking about Kell but not having taken the time to discuss with him she has no idea who is team-mates are.

I really liked to see more of Archer in this chapter, he is really capable. However that’s Robin that surprised me the most, in a way she acted quite maternal with Mori, calming her, confiding in her and encouraging the little dire wolf. So far we had see her sense of humour and a little of her job but this time we have large moment with her and we can see what’s under the “military” part of our eagle. I’m also really curious about what Nik saw…

We also get some new about the governor and what is happening in the city when we also get some info on the New Orleans part of the mission and the rest of the team Gadget and Adam. …. Let just say I do hope there was a little misunderstanding? Some confusion, disappearance anything but not what we learn here!! Because even if we just heard about those, I already like them and care for them ….

Time is becoming and issue and the weather could complicates things but our friends are really determined and if  they can’t prove what Michael has done, they still want revenge and deliver justice….even more after Mori’s confession.

Score:  5/5

Discussion:

1)       Have you already gotten attached to a character that was just cited, spoke of but that didn’t appear in the book/story as of yet. Can you tell us something about him/her, what caught your interest?
2)       Since we are at 2/3 of the book so far what aspect do you prefer the action, the romance or the suspense, the thriller part or how Susannah manages to put them together? What makes your heart beats faster^^

Bonne lecture et restez sur vos garde^^;;

Score:  3,5/5

Black Wings (Black Wings1) by Christina Henry

Hello to all,

The sun is finally here unfortunately the cold hasn't left yet, all more reason to enjoy a good book when we can. I'm following up my decision to favor books including demons since it's this month topic and today i introduce you to an new author to me Christina Henry and her series Black Wings. ^^ i do love the idea of a gargoyle as kind of pet/gardian^^

Enjoy!

Publisher: ACE
Publication: 2010
ISBN:  0441019633
Genre: urban fantasy, paranormal romance,
Violence: strong

Language: normal
sex: little
Public: 18+
Source: bought

Short description from goodreads :

She's an Agent of Death who really needs to get a life.

As an Agent of Death, Madeline Black is responsible for escorting the souls of the dearly departed to the afterlife. It's a 24/7 job with a lousy benefits package.

Maddy's position may come with magical powers and an impressive wingspan, but it doesn't pay the bills. And then there are her infuriating boss, tenant woes, and a cranky, popcorn-loving gargoyle to contend with.

Things start looking up, though, when tall, dark, and handsome Gabriel Angeloscuro agrees to rent the empty apartment in Maddy's building. It's probably just a coincidence that as soon as he moves in demons appear on the front lawn. But when an unholy monster is unleashed upon the streets of Chicago, Maddy discovers powers she never knew she possessed. Powers linked to a family legacy of tarnished halos.

Powers that place her directly between the light of Heaven and the fires of Hell...

My opinion:
Black wings is the first book of the series named likewise by Christina Henri, it’s an interesting start but better to precise first that if you don’t like series with angels, religious/mythological elements this isn’t for you.  I’m not against books with this kind of topics but they aren’t my favourite either it really depends how it’s written and the universe in a whole.  I guess that with this book I’m still unsure where I stand.  I liked it but the Lucifer, hell’s rules etc, bothered me a little. It’s was well written and it could be a really promising start for the series  yes and I will read a little more  before really deciding if it’s a series for me a lot but at this time it was a little too overwhelming I guess.

Madeline is a strong willed heroine with some trouble to control her emotions, since she lived alone since she was 13 it’s a bit normal after all. She is also hard working… as an agent of death she must help the souls to reach the “Door” all the time, no holidays etc and since it’s a job you get by bloodline she had to take care of it since her mother was murdered…. I can’t imagine what it must have looked like as a child, no choice at all….just duty.. That being said I love that she is trying to get what she wants despite what her new found father dictate  however I was a bit disappointed by the event and loss she face at the ending of the book. So far I don’t see why it had to happen but since it’s only book 1 I can wait and see.

The romance is there, forbidden or decided by others but there ^^ and I love the fact that her boss is also in the equation ^^ so triangle or rectangle we will see how it goes because if we know quite a lot on Gabriel and on Nathaniel… JB is still quite a mystery and I do hope he will get his chance after all he is the safer choice so far
The action is not stop, the rhythm rapid and I liked to discover a bit of this universe, I want more of it so  I will if I have some answer in the future, if I adapt to this universe’s rules or if this series isn’t for me in the long run.

So if you are looking for demons, angels and agents of death all mixed with action and romance, this is a right book for you!

Storm Force Episode 5 by Susannah Sandlin ( review and discussion)

Hi!

Welcome to our weekly Storm force review and discussion! Finally episode 5 has been released which comes right on time for those who follow the serials and have been suffering from the heartbreaking and anxious cliffhanger at the end of episode 4….one week was really too long to wait when it ends in such circumstances.

Now this week we get a wonderful new episode, but also another wonderful news…. For readers who want to get the print edition (like I do) the release as been moved to 18 June instead of July isn’t great?

So First i will remind you that the kindle price is only 1,99 dollars at the moment and with that you will get all the episodes already released and the new one as soon as it is without additional cost.  With the newest schedule it means the book will be completed in May but for the print edition, and audo etc you will have to wait until JUNE when it will be released  and at that time the kindle price will also go up so let you be tempted.

Story:
Episode 5:His team finds Kell handcuffed to the bed and the “ suspect” has disappeared but as they laugh a little about it, Mori nature is revealed.  At the same time Mori is suffering but pain is the least of her trouble now as reality of Michael‘s nature comes to lights. All her hopes to be able to change something disappear…as Michael threathens Kell and explain how the rest of her life will be like.
However Kell isn’t backing down and once the shock has passed with his team, without his superior’s knowledge, he starts to strategize how to help save Mori and how to counter Michael’s possible plan, when they discover that the situation is a lot worse that the one they envisioned.

My opinion:
Arg!!! I’m biting my nails again!... and I will keep doing it as long as the serials continues it seems. Last episode ended with a cliffhanger on a hard moment after the tension went up a few notches but this time it’s even worse. Michael is so cruel and disgusting! He doesn’t want to win he wants to crush Mori and he dared to complain last time?! For me he has nothing of what an alpha need to have! He just a dictator! But I guess I’m even more angry at Leslie, we just learn about her, but the idea she could go with his plan, to accept such a situation, all the while being human?! I would hate her if it’s true!! She should team with Mori not planning to steal her children! And Michael has other evil plans, it’s not just Mori but he want to destroy a lot more…. I’m nearly sure he broke some laws with his actions to the governor, and I’m not thinking human laws but he is covering his tracks he is not only evil he is also a coward!

We do have a revelation about Mori’s nature and that’s great. We also discover another Member of team Kell: Archer the feline shifter with a lot of charm. I appreciated to see Kell destabilised and at the same time being able to put his judgement in question and rethink his position. He wants to save Mori, it’s his own priority but he is able to see that his team is trying to help. He has a new view on the shifters on his team too but at the same time he is learning new this about shifters system and it’s not reassuring or pleasing to him. Not to me either, I can’t understand how Archer seems so calm about it like it’s just normal and nothing is wrong about it. In a way, I think Kell is in a similar situation than Mori… having to wait, bid his time until he can act and put that time to think about everything he has discovered but at least he is in better condition for it.

I really dislike the idea Michael has on the women… and I can’t wait to see Robin  to prove him how wrong he was as for Mori… she needs to keep her mind and not make another mistake…she can’t trust him and even less submit to this dement! .. oki I’m even more angry at her parents….and I do hope the old alpha didn’t know about it ( arf Michael could have killed him with treachery  just to have his place it wouldn’t surprise me.)

Next chapter can’t come soon enough now, you really need to join us and discover this excellent book ( which makes honour to his “thriller” part) but  Susannah managed to make us laugh a little, to release a little of the tension with humour when his team discover Kell but then back to angst and psychological violence.. really it’s well done.

Discussion:

1)       Do you like to read books when in front of alpha male women are docile, submissive? Do you prefer a more equalitarian relation?
2)       For you which kind of torture is the worst physical or psychological?
3)       Can you share an embarrassing moment?
