Mocha and Murder (A Killer Coffee Mystery 2) by Tonya Kappes

Hello to all!!!

Like i told you yesterday , this week was focused on me getting up to date in the Killer Coffee Mystery series by Tonya kappes with this second book freshly released....i can only say that it just get better to the point this series can be more addictive than coffee is for some.

Now, no need to wait longer and here is my opinion on Mocha and Murder!

Happy reading
Publication: 2017
Genre: cozy mystery, southern mystery
Violence: mild

Language: normal
sex: none
Public: 16+

Short description from goodreads :

Roxy becomes entangled in another murder as she puts her sleuthing skills to work in order to prove that Louise Carlton didn't kill Fred Hill over a pet adoption gone wrong. After all, if Louise goes to jail, who is going to find all the animals at Pet Palace a home

My opinion:
I loved it!!! really now that we know the setting and a bunch of characters we are immediately draw into the story and this one was quite surprising! Really the series just become even better and i guess this could work as a stand alone if you haven't read book 1 yet you do get enough info as not to be lost.

Roxy is still as funny and as strong as magnet for trouble and Patrick sure has a lot to do to care for her. I really loved how they decided to built their relationship. Bunny is still as funny and we do get to see aunt vs mom bickering and that was really too funny to see Roxy playing the adult one.

The pace is just perfect not too fast but not slow so you are so immersed that you read this in one setting and the plot is really, really well done with some twists and just the right amount of tips. We do see Pepper and Sassy and some new ones.

Also i loved to see how open Roxy was with her recipes and how attentive she is to her workers. We also still get the recipes to try ourselves

This series is really addictive and of great quality if you want some southern mystery this is definitively one to discover

Score:  5/5

Scene of the Grind (A Killer Coffee Mystery1) by Tonya Kappes

Hello to all,

If you follow me for a moment you know that i really enjoy Tonya Kappes writings and i'm fond of several of her books. Last week, the second book in one of her series was released but unfortunately for me i still didn't read book 1 so i was behind and since i love to read in order i had to start with book 1 "Scene of the Grind" however it took me a moment to read it as we had temperature well above the normal for here and i was simply in no shape to read or do anything but i fully plan to make up for that by getting up to date in this series before the end of the week^^.

So here is my opinion on Scene of the Grind, first book in the Killer Coffee Mystery series... probably my least favourite book from this author at this point but still one i loved a lot simply not my top choice^^

happy reading!

Short description from goodreads :

After a bitter divorce, Roxanne Davis (her friends, though few call her Roxie) has moved back home to Honey Springs, Kentucky where she's opened the tourist lakefront town's first coffee house, The Beanhive.

With the excitement of the Beanhive opening and rush of business, Roxie is moving on with her life until she finds that one of her best customers was found dead after eating one of Roxie's best-selling doughnuts.

Gossip in Honey Springs is as hot at the coffee served at the Beanhive and Roxie has to uncover who is behind the murder not only to save her shop, but her life.

My opinion:
It took a moment for me to get really into the story as the beginning is a bit slow while we learn about Roxy, her coffeehouse and Lakefront town but once the mystery starts we do follow Roxy with a lot of pleasure. Her romance was a bit quick but it does feel right and it's hard to resist Pepper.

I guess i just would have wanted to see more of Pepper somehow but we will hear more of him ( and of Sassy i hope) so perhaps i will love next book even more than this one.

The plot is well done, it was fun to discover some of the people living in the town , Bunny is really helpful and a bit like a sunshine even extra early, aunt Maxi must have a lot of secret and so many more to discover.

It's a good cozy mystery and i will be happy to continue the series. A bonus is the several recipes found in the book some i can't wait to try, i think that was a genius idea and so fitting the series and Roxy's passion.

Soul Enslaved ( Sons of Wrath 3) by Keri Lake

Hello to all!!!!

I'm sharing with you my opinion on the third book in the Sons of Wtrath series by Keri Lake, i loved the first books but i got behind taking care of my mother so i'm glad to have jumped in the series again especially since i want to tell you that for those news to the series a box set with book 1-3 release tomorrow ( if you hurry you can still have it at promotional price  ( less than 1dollars but it won't last long).   Link to the box set on amazon

Really it's a good series if you love dark paranormal romance you can find my review of book 1 "Soul Avenged"  and of book 2 " Soul ressurected"    so don't hesitate to get the box set if you don't have the books yet.

Now let see my opinion of book 3 " Soul Enslaved"

Happy reading
Publisher: Keri Lake
Publication: 2014
ISBN:  0373277210
Genre: paranormal romance, urban fantasy
Violence: strong

Language: mild
sex: steamy
Public: 18+
Source: earc

Description from goodreads :

Imprisonment in Obsidius. Enslavement to a soul-sucking succubus. A reproductive cycle that’d send a sex fiend running into the arms of celibacy. Given the choice, most demons would opt for death.

Gavin, eldest son of Wrath, has been sentenced to all three.

When the succubus decides its time to collect, though, he fears his nightmares have only just begun.

And Sabelle’s timing couldn’t be worse.

With a bad case of uncontrollable lust, thanks to his Savidon, the last thing Gavin wants is a vengeful succubus stoking his darkest desires, but debts must be paid—he just didn’t bank on enjoying his punishment so much.

Because the swinging bachelor may have found his perfect mate in the sexy seductress.

However, just as things seem to be looking up, past sins resurface, plunging the two into a deadly game of power and deception. As their worst fears merge into one unexpected threat, Gavin is determined to protect Sabelle and win her freedom.

At any cost.

My opinion:
I loved Gavin from the beginning of the series he is so loyal and determined to protect his brothers i always loved that about him in this story we see even more how far he is willing to go for those he loves. I'm happy to see that Sabelle is quite the same so they are really good together even if i wanted to shake her from time to time for the way she in a sense refuse to be happy while doing all she can to be.

There is a lot of action , and some bantering between the main characters it's funny to see them interact and of course there are some steamy, very steamy scene but  exactly at the right moment in the story so that they are real part of it. Now as you know this series there are also some very dark moments, sad moments, tension ....but strangely for me it didn't sound as dark as the precedent one...strange will all what happen but really i wasn't left in angst, my heart did cry a little at part, but the story is so complete that  the ambiance of the book seemed a little lighter ( and for me that's better)

You will find Sabelle 's children too cute i'm sure and it's always great to see more of the brothers. In this book we do learn a bit more about the whole consequences possible and objectives of diverse group which plant the setting for  the rest ( and that could be darker when we discover the players) but we are not left with an angsty cliffhanger  so it was simply perfect and we did learn about new creature that without saying that the  list of terms at the beginning of the book stay really handy.

This is a series i fully plan to continue as the quality never wavers

Score:  5/5

Snow SEAL (Guardians Elite 4) KaLyn Cooper

Hello to all,

Sorry if i have been a little silent this week but my health isn't great and i was planning something for  the week so you will have some posts coming.
Anyway today i'm sharing with you my opinion on a story that was released last week Snow SEAL, it's a kindle Worlds book focusing on seal and since i do love military romance suspense i had to discover it i haven't read the main series it's linked to but one day i will.

Now thanks to the author kindness i could have a copy to give you my opinion on the story so here it comes.

Happy Reading!

Description from goodreads :

Terrorists want her…but so does he.

Isaac believes this personal protection assignment in Big Sky, Montana is going to be filled with skiing novice slopes all day and spending his nights fending off unwanted pursuers of the pampered daughter of two Atlanta physicians. He couldn’t be more wrong. Hannah Kader was an officer in the all-female YPG Battalion in the Syrian Army, and ISIS wants her, preferably alive. The chase isn’t the only thing that heats up when the flint of the former SEAL strikes against the steel of the woman warrior.

Snow SEAL is a Guardian Security crossover with Elle James’s Brotherhood Protectors. If you enjoy heart-pounding, military romance interwoven with sizzling passion, you’ll like the fourth book in this novella series.

Buy this book and let KaLyn Cooper take you on a thrill ride through the Montana mountains.

My opinion:
As it's the principle of the kindle worlds book this story is set in a pre-existing universe/series since i haven't  read it i had no prior knowledge of the characters but it didn't prevent me to enjoy this story a lot as it works really well as stand alone.

What was the most interesting was to see how the author choose a really strong female character. Hannah isn't a simple damsel in distress, she doesn't hesitate to fight for what she believes in and at the same time she still has a kind of fragility that makes her even more adorable.
Isaac is an interesting character as well, loyal he has a shady past we only have glimpses about but he is a good man and great friend.. i guess i would have loved if he had been a little more focused on the job or at least longer but i guess it's hard to resist Hannah.

This book has some very steamy scenes but a real plot and  doesn't lack action ; it's well written.

Kade (a Wolf's Hunger 2) by A. K. Michaels

Hello to all,

Between the storms i'm happy to share with you my opinion on a new series to me  ...thankfully the books in it can be read as standalone which is perfect since i'm starting with book 2 however i wouldn'ty mind following it and reading the first one as well so i'm glad for the opportunity to share this with you.

Happy Reading!

Description from goodreads :

An out of control Alpha Wolf who is obstinate and won’t heed his Beta’s warnings. Kade MacKenzie is hell-bent on feeding the Hunger gnawing inside him. Stubborn to the core he refuses to believe what’s wrong, that is, until his Wolf decides otherwise.
When his best friend, and one of his Betas, Lennox, reveals the reason for his insatiable Hunger, Kade refuses to believe him. At first. His beast has other ideas, and soon the Shifter is on a quest to find the most precious thing in the universe: his soul-mate.
His decision made, Kade will allow nothing to stand in his way as he searches for the woman who will change his life forever.
Paranormal beings in abundance in book 2 of New York Times Bestselling Author, A K Michaels’ contemporary fantasy series, packed with thrills, hot Shifters, Alpha males, suspense and loaded with Paranormal Romance.

My opinion:
This was really interesting, it's a stand alone so  i didn't need to read the first book in the series and the universe is easy to get a grasp of. The writing style is engaging so this is a easy and quick read.

It's not fully original as it's the soul mate theme we come across often but i really loved how it was done. For example in this universe people know shifters exist...they don't mix a lot but it's not top secret so Kirsti isn't totally lost when she met with Kade and his group. Also i particularly loved Leia.....the dog because yes our heroin as a dog with her...dog among the wolf ends in a very cute situation, hard to resist smiling at those moments.
The author manages to catch our interest and this story is read in one sitting without trouble at all.

The way Kade react is sweet, Kristi adjust too well and too quickly in my opinion but then again with the story it didn't bother me too much..i still think as some parts were a  bit rushed in the sense that if it took longer, the story wouldn't feel too long at all but nothing major.

There are a lot of violence, action and some humour ( or sweet touches to be more precise), i loved some secondary characters like Skie or Jimmy .

It was a very enjoyable read

A Ghostly Gift ( Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries 1,5) by Angie Fox

Hello to all!

Since i did a lot of new release review lately  and because i got the opportunity to read more of one of my favourite series i decided not to wait and share it with you without delay ( after all early next week we should get storms so better in advance than late). So, here is "A Ghostly gift" by Angie Fox .

Happy reading!

Short description from goodreads :

From New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox -- a fabulously fun short story in the new Southern Ghost Hunter Mystery series

Verity Long doesn't want to see ghosts, and she'd rather not let anyone know her little secret, either. But when a restless spirit stirs up trouble in her friend's resale shop, Verity and her very new, very dead gangster friend team up to learn what is really happening.

They discover an age-old secret, and must learn the truth behind a mysterious disappearance…before it's too late.

My opinion:
So sweet! This novella is set just after book 1 Southern Spirits but mostly i think it could be read as stand alone to give you an idea as it does include enough information however i would prefer to recommend you to read it in order it's so much better. Verity is recovering from the event of the first instalment but not sure she wants to become "official" ghost hunter when Frankie is set on gaining money.

Verity is asked from one of her sister's friend to help in an antique shop and discover a ghost wanting to see his loved one again and let her know how much he still loves her all while giving her something back but he can't and that's why problem happened. Moved by his story, Verity decide to help, even without pay.

We can see with this novella how a gentle soul Verity is and really this was a cute investigation but really moving and so, so sweet... thsi novella isn't essential to understand the series i think but it's a great bonus so if you do follow this series (and you should) don't hesitate to read this novella as well.

Review: The Demon Who Loved Me ( Big Bad Bite 3) by Jessie Lane

Hello to all!!

So since i'm taking part in the tour for "The Demon Who Loved Me" release you can find all the info and a giveaway  here ( this review is there also). However i thought it would be easier to also put my review in the same format than usual so here it is.

Description from goodreads :

  He’s a gambling man…

One brunette bombshell with a devious mind and a potty mouth has thrust Kent smack dab in the middle of where he never wanted to be—his family. He’s spent most of his life avoiding his familial responsibilities, especially the one that required him to join the Ninth Circle Council—the demon society’s equivalent of judge, jury, and executioner. Then one lost bet with a little Amazon flips his entire life upside down. With worries about retaliation from the remnants of a rogue pack of wolves in Germany, he doesn’t have time to deal with his family, or his obsession with Chloe Demos.

And she’s the biggest risk he’ll ever take…

After her mother’s death, Chloe’s world crashes down around her. A secret Amazonian heritage. Aunts and a long lost brother she never knew about. Supernatural beings. With all of the sudden changes, she’s decided it’s time to step out from behind her façade of an air-headed, materialistic bimbo and show her sisters she truly does love them—she only hates their wardrobes. What better way to show she cares about her family than to help prove someone close to one of them is innocent of the bogus murder charges from some ridiculous council? Chloe has no scruples about calling in the marker the demon Kent owes her in order to do just that. It’s only too bad she’s underestimated Kent’s intelligence, and his playboy charm.

My opinion:
This series is very entertaining and i was really looking forward more Kent as he was one of the most mysterious characters....on that part i wasn't disappointed we learn more about him for sure, his past, name, power and what is really important for him. I really loved that and he is so loyal and underestimated or more exactly we don't even give him a chance to show how he is really.

Chloe also hide her real personality under lot of appearance and prefer to let people think what they want if that means they are underestimating her....but if what stranger think doesn't count she suffers that her own family doesn't see more deeply under her cover.

I loved to see a bit more about Elena and Gage even if what we see this time just lead to more questions than answer ( though i wonder if Chloe's action isn't for something in that)anyway we get a lot of answers, some more question, the eternal cliffhanger...

The only thing that bothered me a little was the language, a little isn't bad but Chloe and Kent together that sure change the level of the series so far....i wasn't that happy either that started going together simply for a bed or frustration..... i don't mind steamy when it's meaningful but at the beginning it's not really the case as they don't trust each other and have something to prove...that disappointed me little and no matter how intelligent Chloe is, and it's sure she is a good match for Kent, i still have difficulty to appreciate her.

Really a good series, we want more off
